Cookie and Local Storage Policy for MyBudgetNerd

MyBudgetNerd is offered by Athena Analytics LLC, doing business as Athena Data Labs.

This page explains how MyBudgetNerd uses cookies, browser storage, and similar local technologies across our web and iOS experiences.

1. Cookies

MyBudgetNerd does not use cookies for advertising, profiling, cross-site tracking, or ad attribution.

2. Tracking Technologies

• We do not use third-party advertising SDKs or tracking pixels.
• We do not perform cross-app or cross-site tracking for advertising purposes.
• Because we do not track users across third-party apps or websites for advertising, the app does not rely on App Tracking Transparency in its current shipping workflow.

3. Device-Local Storage

The app may use on-device local storage to preserve your settings and session continuity. This can include UI preferences, Session History retention settings, learned categorization preferences, authentication/session artifacts, and locally cached Oracle or Financial Story snapshots that help avoid unnecessary recomputation when reopening the app.

4. Authentication Storage (Sign in with Apple)

When Sign in with Apple is used, authentication and session data may be stored locally using platform security controls (for example, iOS secure storage/Keychain and browser-controlled secure storage where applicable). We do not use these values for advertising or cross-site tracking.

5. Session History

If Session History is enabled, parsed and categorized data may be retained on your device for the retention period you choose. This on-device storage is not an advertising cookie and can be disabled or cleared at any time from within the app.

6. Direct Request Processing

Statement parsing, optional AI categorization, Oracle analysis, Financial Story generation, and Ask Oracle follow-up features operate through direct request/response calls between the app and our backend. They do not require tracking cookies.

7. Anonymous Analytics

When enabled, anonymous analytics events are sent through direct API calls rather than cookies. Those analytics do not include raw transaction descriptions, merchant names, account numbers, or uploaded files. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page.
