Common questions
Do I have to connect my bank account?
No. MyBudgetNerd reads statement PDFs that you upload yourself. There
is no bank login, no credential sharing and no account linking of any
kind.
Is the AI required?
No. Categorization runs on rules by default and works with the AI
switched off. The AI pass is an optional second step you turn on
yourself.
Where is my statement processed?
The PDF is parsed on our servers and then cleared. What the app keeps
afterwards — your transactions and the forecasting history behind
them — stays on your device.
Can I get my data back out?
Yes. Every transaction can be exported to Excel or CSV at any time,
including on the free tier.
Where does it run?
In any modern browser at mybudgetnerd.com, and as a native app on
